Following the first issue, all submissions: must be emailed to editor the second month of each quarter. Late submissions will not be considered.



For example, this magazine will be published 4 times a year (every 3 months) submissions need to be received by the end of February, May, August and November of each year in order to be considered for that quarter's issue. Behind the Front Door will be published at the end of each quarter.



If work has been submitted but not selected for that quarter issue and author wishes to resubmit for next quarter issue, kindly resubmit entire work. We do not keep any work that is not published in our magazine.

​Written categories:
Please note: all submissions must be accompanied by a short synopsis of the work submitted by author or artist.



• Short story fiction - short story longer than 500 words and no longer than 5000 words
• Flash fiction - very short story no longer than 500 words.
• Poetry - all styles inclusive.
• Creative non-fiction - if thought or opinion piece, must provide sources which are referenced in the article.

Art must be submitted by providing a high quality photograph to editors via email. At this time, we will not be accepting original art pieces, only digital photographs of the original.



Art Categories:

• Mixed media art such as photographs mixed with other art methods.
• Paintings - all mediums.
• Pen and ink drawings.
• Photography - digital, 'Polaroid' and film * please keep in mind submission requirements.

At this time, we only accept submissions via email. Once piece is reviewed by appropriate editors, selected artists/authors will be notified via email regarding acceptance.
